Read MoreWhat is Heavyweight Fishing?
Heavyweight Fishing is a Roblox fishing title from the group Unknown Journey. Rather than a quiet angling sim, it leans on scale and combat: you work up to landing genuinely huge fish, then take on bosses that dwarf them, using skills that read more like martial-arts techniques than regular casts.
Three-Layer Damage
Skills bought from NPCs, orbs slotted into your build and traits rolled onto single skills.
Ten Islands, Six Weathers
Each island owns its weather cycle, fish pool and Rod Seller tier rather than sharing a global clock.
Orbs From Every Source
Merchant purchases, quest rewards, crafted bait summons and one Nightmare Mode exclusive drop.
Six-Figure Rod Ladder
Rod prices span six orders of magnitude, from 100 cash to hundreds of millions.
Progress runs on a clear loop. Catch and sell for cash, spend it on a stronger rod at a higher-tier island, then use the skills, orbs and traits you unlock along the way to push into harder waters. Boss fights and secret fish sit at the top of that ladder, gated behind levels and equipment checks.

Heavyweight Fishing Rod Stats
The two stats that decide a rod's value are Luck (rare fish odds) and Power (damage and what you can land). Prices here span six orders of magnitude, so the useful question is which step is worth its jump — not which rod is highest.
Crafted rods have no confirmed Luck / Power figures published yet.
Islands, Weather & Signature Features
Ten islands form the map. Weather is an island property rather than a global clock, so an island's climate decides which fish, events and NPCs are available while you are standing on it.
Beginning Isle
Entry rods, Sage Yijiu, ticket quests and the trait NPC
Bamboo Isle
Thunderstorm weather can spawn here
Fallout Isle
Rainy weather can spawn here
Perch Isle
Has its own island event
Frost Isle
Rod Seller quest awards the Cryo Gravity Rod
Coconut Isle
Rod Seller quest awards the Soul Thorn Rod
Amber Isle
One of three islands where Spirits spawn
Battlefield Isle
Second Sage Yijiu location with a multi-part skill quest
Mistpeak Isle
Mountain Fish spawn here; a 5% drop is available
NPC Directory: Shops, Quests & Timers
Fish Buyer and Set Spawn exist on every island; most other NPCs are island-locked. Two merchants rotate on a spawn timer instead of holding a fixed spot, which changes how you should plan around them.
Orbs and Where Each One Comes From
Orbs slot into your build from four different sources: merchant stock, quest rewards, crafted bait that summons the source, and one endgame-exclusive drop. Which one you chase first depends on what you can already reach.
Maoshan Orb
Paired with the Maoshan skill line its merchant also supports
Taoist Orb
One of the most expensive direct purchases in the orb list
Qian Gate Orb
Quest-gated, so no cash shortcut
Sage Yijiu Orb
Ties into the same NPC that sells skills
Cloud Ascension Orb
Often discussed together with the other ascension orbs
Bac Minh Orb
Named after one of the game's quest NPCs
Execution Orb
The only orb with a mode gate rather than a price gate
Trait Rarity Bands and Their Roll Rates
Traits roll in four bands, and the spread between them is extreme — the top band sits three orders of magnitude below the bottom one. Every trait applies to a single skill, so the band you want depends on which skill you actually use.
Heavyweight Fishing FAQ
How do I redeem a Heavyweight Fishing code?+
Open the in-game Code button, paste the code exactly as written and confirm. Most codes also carry a level gate — the rewards are granted only once your level meets the requirement, so a code that seems broken on a fresh account usually just needs more levelling. Codes rotate, so check the list before assuming one has stopped working.
Which Heavyweight Fishing rod should I buy first?+
Buy the cheapest rod that beats your current one on both numbers rather than chasing the most expensive rod you can barely afford. The Bamboo Rod at 100 cash gets you started, and saving toward the Iron Hook Rod pays off faster than spending on bait first. Past the mid game, check whether a rod is sold by an island Rod Seller or can only be crafted before you plan around it.
How do I get skills in Heavyweight Fishing?+
Skills are bought from Sage Yijiu, who appears on the starting island and again on Battlefield Isle. Several named arts gate behind quests that ask for a specific catch or fish weight, so a locked skill is usually a quest you have not finished rather than a bug. Once bought, skills can be upgraded with Essences.
Where do Heavyweight Fishing orbs come from?+
Orbs arrive from four different routes: straight purchase from a merchant, quest rewards, bait that summons the source, and one drop that only appears in Nightmare Mode. Because the sources differ that much, the practical question is not which orb is strongest but which one you can actually reach with your current level and cash.
What are the trait odds in Heavyweight Fishing?+
Traits roll in four rarity bands with very different rates: Rare around 30%, Epic around 15%, Legendary around 2% and Mythical around 0.1%. Traits are applied to a single skill, so rolling a good one onto a skill you never use is wasted. Expect the top band to take a long session of rerolling rather than a few attempts.
How do I unlock new islands?+
Island travel runs through the Spawn Boat NPC, which gives you a boat on the starting island. Higher-tier islands stock stronger rods and richer fish, so the usual route is to earn on your current island until the next Rod Seller's stock is affordable, then sail. Weather is island-specific, which is why some fish and events only appear in one place.
Which Heavyweight Fishing NPCs are worth visiting first?+
Prioritise the Rod Seller for upgrades, the Fish Buyer to convert catches into cash, and Sage Yijiu for your first skills. The two wandering merchants are on a spawn timer rather than a fixed location, so treat them as an opportunity to catch rather than a route to plan. Nanjiang on the starting island handles trait rerolls.

Work out your next rod upgrade, lock in a skill loadout and stop guessing which island to sail to next — the wiki has the stats behind every step.
